Beauty Korean ("we", "our", "us") operates the Beauty Korean mobile application and this website. We are committed to protecting your personal data under the GDPR, the CCPA, and applicable local laws.

2. Data We Collect

  • Account data (mobile app): email, display name, authentication provider (Google/Apple).
  • Facial image data (mobile app): photos processed on-device by MediaPipe; not permanently stored unless you opt in to history. Temporary server-side images are deleted within 24 hours.
  • Skin analysis results: skin type, moisture/oil levels, trouble areas — stored for history and recommendations.
  • Affiliate click data: which OLIVE YOUNG Global, SASA Global, or Stylevana products you click, with timestamps.
  • Subscription data: plan and billing dates (card details are held by Paddle — we never store card numbers).
  • Website usage: anonymized analytics, language preference, device type.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Provide and improve skin analysis and virtual makeup features in the mobile app.
  • Generate personalized K-beauty product recommendations.
  • Process subscription payments via Paddle.
  • Track affiliate clicks for OLIVE YOUNG Global, SASA Global, and Stylevana referrals.
  • Send transactional emails (subscription confirmation, payment failure).
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

  • Contract — to provide the Service you requested.
  • Legitimate interests — analytics, fraud prevention, affiliate attribution.
  • Consent — marketing communications and personalized advertising.
  • Legal obligation — tax, accounting, and compliance requirements.

5. Affiliate Program Disclosure

Beauty Korean participates in the OLIVE YOUNG Global, SASA Global, and Stylevana Affiliate Programs. When you click a product link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links include tracking parameters to attribute referrals.

6. Data Sharing

We share data only with the following trusted third parties:

  • Firebase (Google) — authentication.
  • Paddle — payment processing and subscription management (PCI-DSS compliant, Merchant of Record).
  • Google Cloud Storage — secure image storage with server-side encryption.
  • Sentry — anonymized error monitoring.
  • Google AdMob — advertising for Free plan users.
  • OLIVE YOUNG Global, SASA Global, Stylevana — affiliate referral tracking.
  • We do not sell your personal data.

7. Data Retention

  • Account data: until you delete your account.
  • Skin analysis results: 12 months or until account deletion.
  • Uploaded facial images: deleted within 24 hours of analysis.
  • Affiliate click logs: 90 days.

8. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in servers located outside your country (e.g., the United States, European Union, or South Korea). We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent safeguards for cross-border transfers.

9. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete your account and all associated data via Profile → Delete Account in the app, or by emailing Beauty-Korean@hotmail.com.
  • Portability — request a machine-readable copy of your data.
  • Object to processing for direct marketing.
  • Opt out of personalized advertising — device "Limit Ad Tracking" setting or the in-app Privacy toggle.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Security

We use HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, server-side encryption at rest, and role-based access controls. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong password and keep your device up to date.

11. Children's Privacy

Beauty Korean is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact Beauty-Korean@hotmail.com and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We will notify you via in-app notification or email for material changes. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
